The style of the inlet. It takes a 5.5" boot and is smooth into the blades. Its just plain big.

It is going to be a challenge to place and make all work.
But better than buying a kit..it would be years before that would happen.

So i am defiantly set on getting that kit from Irate, just have to make the stock turbo last till i get the funds for it. Still have to install the e-fuel, order ARP studs, and get a Posi unit (Eaton detriot tru-trac is more then likely what ill be looking at) then during that get started on fixing some typical Michigan rust holes/spots. I did end up getting the E99 spyder, intercooler piping and all the extras from a friend i just traded for a set of tires and did some work on his truck so i do have that and only paid for $150 for the 6.0 intercooler out of the salvage yard. Will probably put that on and just swap everything out when it comes time to get the Irate kit. Atleast ill have the intercooler already mounted so ill just have to swap out the piping and spyder. My EGT's are way to high as of now so thats my main concern as of now with the stock turbo. Figure ill get everything set up and done before the Irate kit goes on (Looking like Fall of this year at the earliest before ill have the funds for that). Guess we will see what the old girl can do detuned on the stock turbo for now

If I had to guess, that would be because the S468 comes box stock from Borg Warner with a race cover. So to get it without the race cover you'd have to pull the race cover, machine a standard cover from an S465 to fit and install it onto the S468. That's just a wild guess, so I might be wrong.

OP... Do way more research on T4 kits and turbo setups before you proceed with this project. It's not a project that you want to step into if you don't know what you're doing.

Definitely do the S468 with 250s. It should make around 550hp, maybe a little more and will be dependable as long as you do the supporting mods. A little word of advise though. Do not put this turbo on the truck until you have headstuds in it if you value the life of your head gaskets. Also, get rid of that 6.0 IC or wait until it pops and then put an aluminum tanked 7.3 IC in it or get an aftermarket 7.3 or 6.0 IC. I don't think the plastic end tanks on the stock 6.0 IC will like seeing 50psi of wind from the S468 for long.
