1975 Ford F100 Alternator Wiring and Ground?
My charging system is not working so ive taken out the harness and am looking at all the fusible links and wires. Im replacing all the connectors and re-doing the connections with fresh wire.
My understanding is:
Regulator F - Alternator Field(Orange)
Regulator S - Ammeter and Ignition Switch(Green/Red)
Regulator A - 1) Ground(Black) 2) Fusible Link from BAT+ then back to solenoid and battery+ terminal (Yellow)
The auto parts store seems to think that the alternator should be grounded to the battery, but I cant find any evidence of that in my repair manuals.
Also I am adding an in-line fuse at the yellow wire and BAT + junction going back to the solenoid.
What fuse would be best for this system?
I know theyre people out there that have much more experience than I wiring these things up..soo id like to double check with the community.
Any help would be appreciated.
