Power Windows

I noticed some pics of some rides with power windows, and wondered if there was a Ford PW assembly from another year or model that fits the bumpside or is an after market unit the only choice.

My buddy used a kit from SPAL. He is very pleased with it. I believe it utilizes the stock regulators.
It's in his crew cab build thread----> Calf's 69 Crew build, and CNM67's 67 shorty build - Page 17 - The FORDification.com Forums

Many people use Saturn power window motors using the stock window regulators. That's how I plan on doing mine.

I stole from a '90 pickup. If you search for my build thread I did a short write up.

That's excellent news, I have a 90 F250 that I'm stealing the ZF from that has PWs. What's your thread called.

This reminds me of a thread I started a year ago or so. What about switches? And their location? I started dabbling with the regs out of a 97 Cougar hail damage car I had. Looked like I was going to get them to work but stalled after I realized the switches question.

I have a very good idea for the switch part but ill have to let the suspense build until in ready for them. as they are still down the road on my build. want to get it running and driving for now then on to the interior mods.

I was thinking about mounting a set of switches in a custom bracket under the seat so you just have to lean down some and hit the switch that way you won't need to worry about getting a set that don't flow with the rest of the interior and stick out.

They make switches that go where the crank went. They look like your crank.

Yep. I've seen those advertised. I'd be afraid of a passenger grabbing it to rough and spinning it thinking it's still a manual crank.

That is what has kept me from them. Right now they just hang under the dash. Not sure where I plan on putting them.

I haven't decided what I am doing interior wise yet. That is probably where they end up.

hide them in the ashtray
I will probably go with the ones that look like stock handles for up and down myself.

That presents a problem. Totally smoothed dash. Don't want to cut any holes in it
