DID all the trucks 59-60 f100 come with door locks on both sides. mine only has them on the passenger side...its ok on dates but a b*%ch other times....just thought i would ask

The logical solution is to install an alarm and put in power lock actuators. Or, you can buy a set of new lock cylinders which sometimes come with a template for adding a lock to the driver's door.
My '59 only came with a lock on the passenger's side, but I bought an extra lock, flipped the template and installed it on the driver's side so I'd have a lock on both doors.
My 60 custom cab does have locks on both side as angus said. Unfortunatly for me they don't work with the one key I have that fits my ignition. O well it should be easy enough to just pop some new ones in. Not really worried about anyone steeling it yet.
Larry,
I hear ya there... I have one key for the ignition, a separate key for the passenger's side and yet a third key for the driver's side! Needless to say, I can't wait to get my power door locks installed.
Thanks guys
i will try those ideas out....it may not look like stealing...but i would like to keep a stereo in it...and thats hard to do in my nieghborhood without door locks

You can get new sets of lock cylinders with the door and ignition keyed alike from places like So-Cal Pickups. Considering how worn the locks can get after 40 years, replacing them is a good idea anyway. The ignition key would sometimes fall out of the 1960 Merc when I was driving on rough roads; fortunately the keys never fell through any of the holes in the floor.
Yeah kenny i did know about it thanx.. my passenger door lock failed recently,so i have been toying with the idea of adding to the drivers side someday(they are probably beyond my talents at this point.......but give me time
