I have a 2004 Ford F150 with the 4.6L V8. The vehicle has about 150k miles on it. Something internal happened that prevented it from shifting into overdrive so I had the transmission rebuilt last April. Everything seemed to be fine until a few month ago while it was still hot in south Texas. I noticed that intermittently it wouldn't shift into overdrive, and when that was happening, cruise control wouldn't work either. The cooler the weather, and the cooler the truck the less it occurs. I also think that when I have to really "get on it" to move over or merge at a low speed and its stays in 2nd or has to shift down into second it happens as well. Before I go back to the tranny man, I thought I would see if anyone had any ideas. Your help is appreciated in advance. Hoping to use this truck periodically to pull our 24 ft travel ultralite travel trailer.
