1993 F-250 7.3 Turbo Diesel Automatic Flexplate - CANNOT FIND!
Hello All,
I am new to the forum. I read the FAQ's and trust I am not making any newbie mistakes with my first post.
I have a 1993 Ford F-250 XLT 7.3 Turbo Diesel XLT Automatic- I need a new flex plate.
The OEM part is Part #F3TZ-6375-A
I cannot find the part anywhere. I called Ford and it was discontinued a while back. No one has them in stock that I can find. Looks like a junkyard my be my best bet.
I am told that my truck has 4 studs/holes where this attaches. I found two flex plates via Auto Zone, and Oreilly that state part # FRA-490 is the flex plate for this truck BUT it has 6 holes instead of 4. Mine has 4 bolts to attach. My mechanic told me that the FRA-490 part will not fit.
Is there a way to convert this or some type of workaround. BETTER YET does anyone know where to find this part?
GREAT FORUM! Thank you for your time!

im not sure what the updated part # you have there is for (n/a or turbo) but keep in mind you need the turbo one if your engine is the factory turbo engine to keep the engine correctly balanced.the original number is: 1816637C1
so this means you've only got two years ('93 and '94) of finding the correct one,and remember even in these years, the turbo engine was optional.the n/a was still standard so not all engines in these 2 years will be the donors your looking for.......plus probably no one would part with it from a running engine,so now your down to just finding one off a parts factory turbo 93/94 block.good luck!

I wanted to say THANK YOU to all those who replied to this thread and contacted me through email. I FOUND THE PART and Big Brown is running smooth again. I had to search high and low for it. Found the part in Florida..... I am in California.
I gotused Flexplate off of a 1994 F250 with same engine specs. The issue I had finding one at a parts supplier is that my truck is a turbo.
Hopefully this thread will help out the next guy that comes along with the same problem. If you have a 93, 94, or 95 7.3 Turbo Diesel any flex plate off that year model meeting these specs will do.
I will try to post a picture of the new flex plate I bought for reference. In the meantime I attached pictures of the old flex plate. What went wrong is very obvious!!

actually i was wrong when i said two years.you only had '93 and just half of the '94 year to find the part off from a used optional factory turbo block and it of course had to come with an automatic trans, not a stick, and needed to come from a blown engine which should have been scrapped if not rebuilt (cus who's going to sell it off a running good engine right?) lol! so you got pretty fortunate with finding one.
the second half of '94 would be the power stroke engine, and you wouldn't be able to use a '95 at all because mid way of '94 the idi was done.all '95's would be the 6 hole psd (with who knows what type of balance.likely much different.)
congrats on finding the needle in the hay stack! may she never break again!

THANK YOU!
You are right! I mis-typed that it was '93-95; should have said 93-94. I did not know about the "half of '94". I GOT LUCKY!!!! Took me a month to find it. Came off a scrapped 1994. YES - the fact that mine is an automatic made the needle even harder to find.I paid a lot for it with shipping and BUT got my old truck running.
My truck has many names......... Big Brown, Exxon Valdez ( use to leak oil until I fixed that), La Bomba,.... so stoked it is fixed!

Did whoever did your flexplate document it? I have pictures of both flexplates. The turbo model seems to just have the slots shifted a couple inches. If I had balance data I could get billet plates made.
