Yet another contender (150 miles away). Here's the write up:

2008 Ford F350 Lariat Super Crew 4x4 - 6.4 350HP, Not a dually. Maroon with gray leather interior. Sun roof, tool box, level kit and new set of tires. 238,000 primarily highway miles. Injectors replaced approx. 60k miles ago.

With these miles would you assume its been "fixed" or that it's beyond the typical miles - and so likely not a problem?

My use would be basically limited to 3K miles annual, pulling a 10K fifth wheel, AND an upgrade from my 02 F250 XL trim, SuperCab.

I welcome your comments.

I can't find the ad now but I do have an email addy; it is located in a little unknown town out Tallahassee, FL way. Ad asked for $21,800, when I emailed he countered with $19,800.

Once again, do you think with these miles it's been "fixed" or demonstrated that it'll be OK as is.

Price is insane. If it isn't deleted I wouldn't personally go near it, if it was I probably still wouldn't, maybe for half that price and that is a big maybe.

For that many miles a year I wouldn't even be looking at a diesel. A 3V V10 would do nicely.

Agreed, 15k is the Kelly Blue Book value for good condition (regardless of appearance, assume good condition- no sense in paying an extra $2000 just to have the fuel pump go out a month later and have to spend another $2000 on top of it).

I agree with everyone else, look at another truck if he wants that much money. Keep in mind that an out of warranty failure can cost you $10,000 or more. That's a lot of miles, and the 6.4L isn't known for being as bullet-proof as the modular gas engines are. There is NO chance I'd ever consider it for that price or anything close to it.

Sure wish I had those numbers before my last email (a week ago now). In it I asked him to advise me if he approached the $16K-17K, at which I offered to make the drive for viewing. I've had no response since then.

There are a few good looking '08-'10 models in southeast Louisiana that may be worth having a look at (and you can instantly test it for "death wobble" on the god-awful roads there) if you can get a good response from the dealership:

'08 F250 172k miles for $15,975 in Hammond

Oddly it's listed as a 6-speed manual, but the pictures show it as an automatic (the rest of the info lines up with the pictures though). Has the upfitter switches and looks nice in blue. You could always have the interior redone in leather if you're set on that.

'08 XLT 143k miles for $16,460 in Slidell

Already has leather and upfitters.

Most of the 6.4 liter diesels I have seen lately are overpriced (and the majority of them are XLs asking for more than King Ranch prices).

Good luck,

K-L, those two are 3/4 ton while I'm looking for the greater legal weights found on the F350 - as I one day may upgrade the fifth wheel.
