carrier bearings and Speedo
So I am trying to get my old girl running better. One area that bothers me is the speedo wiggeling at 55-58 then it stops. starts again @70.
no weird codes so Im thinking it could be a the carrier bearings? I think I have read where this has been a solution for a similar issue. So here is the main question, How hared is it? will it mess with the rear ends jive? I have already blew up a 538 ring and pinion set doing 45 down the beach, and almost took out a Farriar with my Drop hitch.
thanks guys!

Nope. Like any electronics, the PSOM can give the illusion of being just fine and then spaz out whenever it feels like it. Check the PSOM board for broken solder joints, leaking caps... the usual things you'd look for.
Also... unplug the RABS module can screw with the signal circuit, unplug the RABS and see if the speedo/PSOM behaves right.

Okay, no go on the pic search.
Yes I have done it, you have to pry off the plastic trim strips on each side of the bezel. There's screws under there... take 'em out. Then remove the headlight kn0b by using a pick or something. Stick it in the slot on the side, lift the locking tab, pull it straight off.
Unplug the fuel switch, and any other wires going to the bezel controls.
Cluster comes out with 4 screws after that. To take it apart, take off the lens and pull each group of gauges straight out. Speedo comes out last. When you have the speedo in your hands turn it over and you'll see the PSOM board on the back of it. Unplug the ribbon cable and undo the (4?) screws holding it down, and there you go!
