Evening guys, based on something i saw in Stefans thread I'm wondering if anyone has or has seen a zf5 extended shift lever. My center console is taller than a stock one and I'd like the shift **** to be even with it in 2nd and 4th but keep it looking stock.
What does the shift lever look like w the **** removed? Is it threded? Maybe u can just cut the upper portion off another one and use an internal rod w set screws or something?
shift **** is a press fit. you would be better off making an adapter to raise it on the bottom. it bolts to the shift tower with 2 bolts. so you could remove the shifter, make a small extender and bolt it to the tower, then bolt the shifter to the extender.

Thanks Tom, i had it out while doing the clutch so i do know it uses a two bolt deal. If i added to the bottom i couldnt use the boot; its gotta be at the top or in the thick part, remember i want it to look stock.

How much do you need to extend it? The boot should accomodate a few inches at least.
If it were me, I'd cut the top half off another stock shifter, cut the top off yours and add however much you want from the other shifter.. ie, weld it, grind down flush with a flap wheel, and repaint the whole thing. I had to weld on mine to run a Hurst **** on it and you can't tell I did anything to it...
