Is it a newer step bumper or an early "contour" bumper which resembles the front?

For the latter, which are relatively hard to find OEM o in the JY, contact Blue Oval Truck Parts for repros.

If you can weld, the later Bronco brackets can be modified.

10-4.. the wing brackets also need to be modified per below. A set of factory brackets is also shown for reference.

Yes fabing a set is the quicker and easier way to go, because the OEM brackets are VERY hard to locate.

VERY rare, so like HIO said finding a newer (maybe) or older 78/79 Bronco with a set and doing some cut/grind/weld or just get a hold of BOTP.

I missed out on a set, plus the contour bumper at my local u-pull a while back. Went to get them and someone had already pulled the bumper for the brackets....I just walked off and left the bumper laying there.

A decent rear contour bumper is worth anywhere btwn $40-$75.

Ya know what is surprisingly expensive? The license plate light pig tails, cap, and lenses. They're about $45 each from Dennis Carpenter.

The bumper was ok, but not as nice as I originally thought it was...when I spotted it, the truck hadn't been processed for picking yet.

I know what you mean! The L/P lamps are expensive.

I managed to piece together a set from three different trucks... on one trip! The caps were in one truck's glove box, decent lenses from another, and the third truck had a dock bumper but someone retrofitted the pigtails. Serendipity.

How rare are those original brackets? MY 76 HB has the original contour bumper with the original brackets on it. I was about to pull all that off and fabricate a nice offroad style bumper for it.
