99 f250 ext cab is this a good deal

hi all,

a friend of mine wants to sell me his 99 f250 ext cab 4x4 with around 50k miles on it yes 50k miles on it.

this truck was barely driven but has been sitting there for about a year or so without being driven..

what it needs right now are small repair like a new glove box, some tires and a paint job.

but would $5500 be a good price? it's cloth interior

Which engine/tranny? Paint and tires will add another $2000 to its price.

need some more details. Besides the paint what is the condition of the rest of the body, is there any rust? Really mileage doesn't mean anything, it's the age of the vehicle that matters. I've seen 15yr old vehicles with really low mileage that don't look any better than a similar vehicle with normal miles for the age. sitting for an extended period of time or hardly driving it kills a vehicle just as fast(or faster) than putting a ton of miles on it.

I would pull the carpets and look at the floor of the cab for evidence of flood damage.

What engine does that have? V-8?

thats the 7.3 right?

this pickup has been sitting there for 2 years he starts it normally every now and then.

the reason the truck is sitting there is because he has 4 other cars.

ne normally drives his smart car that he convert to electric.

The 7.3 is a diesel, by the looks of it you have a 5.4 gasser in the pics. Now if it was a 7.3 $5500 would be a killer deal but since its a 5.4 the price is about right..
