Crown Vic front clip

Found someone in my part of the country that installs Crown Vic front ifs, but was told that they only will accept 16 inch 5 X 4.5 rims with very little room for reverse on the rims as with tires on, not much room for clearance in the wheel opening. Which may limit the choice of tire and rim selection. Any thoughts on this and if anyone has the CV ifs how they like it's ride?

Well, I have a Crown Vic and I use 15" wheels on it, the standard size it came with. As for the 5X4.5" lugs, why is that a limit? Plenty of reputable performance companies will redrill rotors. The problem I have had in the past was getting a rear of the proper lug pattern, not the front.

I thought the newer CV IFS had 16s due to caliper size.

As for the bolt pattern, why change it? You will most likely need new wheels anyway.

There are plenty of full positive offset 5x4.5" wheels to select from. I think the harder choice will be to find something that you like the style of an match that to the rear as far as offset goes. Unless you chose to do a wheel spacer/adapter on the rear.

Check out the rear end of a Crown Vic, same width as a CV front, same bolt pattern, can be had in several gear ratios, has disk brakes and can be found in Llimited Slip.

I used late Model 5 lug Mustang wheels. Mustangs have a better selection of wheels.
