You did good, the last two years they made them ('06 and '07) have all the updates/fixes from Ford in place. We just turned over 100K miles with only a $4 o-ring failure on the fuel pressure regulator at ~75K miles which took 5 mins to replace. I strongly recommend using the Ford cetane booster/fuel lube, avail by the gallon from Kmans Parts. Congrats.

Youse guys (said with a NJ accent) are just too quick. MP, I read your link (thank you) and am familiar with those products; and for S75, I'm an android user.
I actually have an elm27 reader along with the paid version of Torque Pro. I've previously used it on several owned vehicles but found it clumsy. Especially trying to manipulate it and the phone software while commuting down the byways at 60.
I was thinking along the lines of dedicated gauges such as these:
Any ideas along this thought would be helpful.

Amazon.com: MaxTow 99-07 Tan Ford Super Duty PowerStroke Double Vision Diesel Gauge Package Boost, EGT, Trans Temp & Fuel Pressure: Automotive
I don't really think I need 4 gauges, I know I would prefer something less intimidating (and expensive). But I don't know what gauges are most important from nice to have; let alone how to separate a quality one from junk.Any ideas along this thought would be helpful.

Army RET, best case scenario for you would be for you to have one of the tools Shaneb75 mentioned, to check out the truck, to see if there are any problems before you signed on the dotted line for your new truck. It will be very handy to know as much as you can about the truck before you purchase!

You can pull everything you need via the ODBIIport, except:
* fuel pressure (VERY important)
* exhaust gas temp ( only an issue towing or running tunes)
* oil pressure (low pressure system, not all that critical)
So, i have scangauge2 and a single A-pillar gauge (has 2 displayed values) for fuel pressure and voltage.
If you like lots of gauges there are lots of threads with lots of options, but the sg2 IS really simple and automatically turns on and works w/o doing anything.
