Over on another thread on this site at that time you commented that there were none better.....Just curious as to what happened to yours? If you'd tell us it may save the rest of us from a headache down the road.

I think you have me mixed up with someone else. My spelling doesn't even match.

I never advocated RedHead, the only way I would buy one is if they were the same price as the local auto parts store's, the warranty was the same, and with free shipping because they are just another rebuild...................with their own problems.

I can not agree more. These are ALL factory Ford core units rebuilt. Some are repainted black, some are painted red on the top. Bottom line is there is no guarantee beyond the warranty for replacement cost, not the labor.

The quality of the unit is really based on the quality of the person disassembling the old core and making the call on what needs replacing and / or machining. I have yet to see A SINGLE unit that has different documented specs as factory OEM parts.

Right, after being a mechanic for many years and working with rebuilt parts daily I know it is pretty much all the same stuff and there is no silver bullet, hype or no hype.

Gotcha, My mistake, forget I ever mentioned it....I already have

....and I did already buy a RedHead... didn't find them to be that much more expensive than any of the others for my application (2007) and they do say they re-machine for needle bearings in place of bushings. I have it installed and I find it to be exceptionally tight and am happy with it. Was it worth the extra money you ask? I don't know I didn't buy any of the others. If it lasts longer than the 72,000 mi. the OEM one did I guess then it will start to pay me back..lol
