Help. truck won't start

I have an 89 Ford bronco Eddie Bauer edition and just recently got it stuck in some water. Got it towed back home and it started then died at the first light I came to. Now it turns like it's about to start but won't..I sprayed starting fluid in throttle body and still won't start. Replaced ignition module. Tested starter. Put new distributor cap on still Nothing..any one that can help I'd appreciate it I have no means of transportation

Well I'd start with a few things. First you want to check for codes. You can do this by jumping a terminal that's probably in your engine bay (I'm not very familiar with OBD1 systems on these trucks), then turning the truck to run and counting the flashes of the engine light. You always have at least one code which is code 11 I believe. There are a few good threads here if you search that tell you exactly what to do to get the test done. You can search for KOEO and something should come up. If you get it running, you can search KOER test too for reading codes with the engine running.

After checking for codes trying to fix any issues that codes may be pointing to, the next thing would be to check for spark or fuel.

I assume your truck is carbureted, so you should be able to see if fuel is being supplied.

Checking for spark is easy too, just unplug one of your wires at the plug, and stick a screwdriver or metal piece in the end of the wire. Have this touch a grounded piece of metal on your truck and see if it sparks when the engine is being turned over. It helps to have two people do this but it can be done with one person too if you set it up so you can see where it is while cranking the key. Be very careful doing this because you don't want to spark yourself.

Edit: Here is a kinda useful flow chart I found you can follow too: http://www.ifitjams.com/starting.htm

First thing to do is see whether it is getting fire to plugs or not. This is a fuel injected truck so you can check the schrader valve on fuel rail to see if fuel is present. Always back to basics. Fuel, Fire and Air and everything getting there at the right time.

Check the air filter, if it's wet replace it. Just went through this two weeks ago with my sisters van.
