motorcraft carburetor

I have a 300 6 that runs my sawmill. Someone stole the carburetor. It's a manual choke with an aftermarket dui distributor. I have an early 80s truck (junker) with a 300 the carb looks like I could get it to work but my old carb didn't have all the things on it that this one has. Can I somehow get this carb to work? The tag on the truck carb -

I decided to just put it on and see if it would work, it didn't. There isn't even adjustment screws on it. Any suggestions which carb I need?

Thanks

Although your trial at using what you have was unsuccessful, IT COULD be made to work I'm sure with a little work although not adjusted properly perhaps. Here is a manual choke version of one that is recommended sometimes when a replacement is needed. Good luck in your search..too bad about the theft, those manual choke versions are hard to find "in the wild". I think they mostly came on your type of install, some Jeeps, and some FORDS.. What you want is a Carter YF manual choke if you can find one. A Hot air choke can be used or even an electric choke..but it will need to be setup properly.

I actually found it a little odd that took the carb and not the expensive distributor! They must not have known what they were looking at.

I was thinking the same thing. If I had to choose, I'd rather they make off with the carb than the DUI!
Good luck on getting it running again.
