So it's winter... ;) Chat thread 2014-15

Ok, ok, I'll get the thread started... Just lucky I got it with the day, hard to remember sometimes the significance of the date when just trying to deal with the day itself...

So what new everyone? Same story here, just focusing mostly on getting through each day.

Well, I finally got my Super Duty turbo in the mail, and got a new Ford water pump ordered for my OBS Powerstroke. That'll be a fun install... I'm not looking forward to it. Anyone want to earn a case of beer and a few dollars to do my water pump for me?

If I didn't have a list a mile long of things to fix I'd be game. I'm the oldest of nine in my family and do most of the car repair for most of them and with doing all the farm related repairs and working on a engine transmission swap in my Ranger I kinda have my hands full.

Good morning Iowa, welcome to winter! Christmas came early! The turbo, not so bad. That water pump is probably a bear, though.

Yeah, the turbo will be done when (if) I ever get around to buying an old IDI with a 5 speed 4x4 and swapping in the transmission. I figure when the trans is out, I can do the new up-pipes and driver's side exhaust manifold when I have good working room under the hood. I'm in no hurry to swap out that turbo (yet) but the water pump is kind of a priority. The truck is just sitting around waiting to get fixed for now.

I'm quite all right with that. One less week of winter to deal with. But then again, I'm on vacation down in Florida right now, so the worst I've dealt with is 50 degrees and rainy.

I'd take that weather any day over what we have today, -2 with a -20 wind chill. Only getting up to 7 today. Just keep telling myself.....only 80 days to spring.....Only 80 days to spring......

Yuck... I'm just glad I'm not out working in it. I work outside, 6 days a week, 10-12 hours a day. Not exactly a fun time to be doing my job.

Yeah, that would quite frankly suck. I used to do pre-cast concrete outside. I'm done working outside!!

I do electrical line construction work. At least the pay makes it worthwhile.
