What is my truck worth? 2000 Ex - Lifted
With seeing some of these crazy prices for Excursions, I've been thinking about selling my Ex. It has been a great truck and I am currently in the process of rebuilding the sleeping platform for 2015 but I wouldn't mind starting over with a new rig as well.
2000 Ford Excursion
v10
4WD
156k miles
Limited
Dents around
100% reliable and meticulously maintained.
Needs nothing as it is. Just get in and go on an adventure. I would take this to CA tomorrow as it sits.
All rear seats removed but included with sale.
Roughly $12,000 in aftermarket parts, not including any labor. Everything listed below was installed this year. I am probably forgetting things.
Aftermarket:
2005-2007 Headlights and grille - new header panel
37" Toyo tires with about 90% tread life
Ion Alloy 18" wheels
Zone Offroad 6" Lift - all new shocks and steering stabilizer
Buckstop front and rear bumpers - rear bumper bent on one side, see photos. Front bumper perfect
Warn 12k powerplant winch
Stoptech slotted/drilled rotors pads all around
Warn Premium hubs
Custom roof rack
10" Rigid LED in grill
50" LED bar on roof rack
Hella Fog lights in bumper
Hidden Cobra CB - Firestik antenna on rear bumper
Custom cat-back exhaust - not loud, good sound
ARB 8' Awning
Welded rear end - spare, open rear end included with sale.
2WD rear hatch struts
New style mirrors (2011?) will be installed prior to sale
Fold down table on rear door
Important Maintenance:
All 4 new brake calipers
10 new coils/plugs/boots
New power steering lines
Brand new AGM batttery - Diehard branded Odyssey
All new fluids - Coolant, synthetic oil, differentials, trans, transfer case, brake fluid, power steering.
Can be included, depending on price, for a turnkey expedition rig:
43 Qt 12v fridge
Sleeping platform w/ full size foam mattress
Recovery gear
Propane stove
MaxTrax
Propane catalytic heater
New style OEM King Ranch rear bumper
Bad:
Dents around - It has been used offroad. I am typically gentle on the truck and NEVER do full throttle or bounce over things. Low speed crawling is the way to go. 99% of the damage was there when I bought it or happened on one event in Vermont. The bulk of the damage is on the lower half of the driver and passenger front doors. I have been keeping an eye out for replacement doors in the same color to swap over. The other bad spot is the driver's rear quarter panel, under the tail light. That was there when I bought the truck.
Rocker panels rusty - Driver's side has been replaced. Passenger side needs to be replaced.
Door Ajar light is on - Bad contact in one of the door switches. I don't know which one and have never looked for it.
ABS light is on - Needed a front wheel speed sensor when I bought it. I preferred not having ABS so I left it.
Driver's side rear door doesn't close all the way at the top - See first photo below. I think it is because of the dented rocker panel underneath the door. It still closes enough to not let water or anything inside the truck, it just doesn't sit flush with the body.
Some pin-striping/scratches on the paint - It cleans up amazingly well with a wax but there are still some scratches in two places that still show up.
I don't have any driveway shots but everyone here knows what I use it for anyway.

Your truck is awesome, you have converted it into a specialty truck as a result of all the off-road mods you have completed and because of that you have created a smaller and very limited market for your vehicle. IOW, the only way you will come close to selling your truck (for it's value) is to sell it to someone like you - another off-roader.

I'm willing to bet that Apoc would give you $5,000 for it so you can get started on something else. Seriously with the upgrades and overall condition I would think 10-12 would be reasonable depending upon local market conditions. Be prepared to not get anything close to what you put into it though, such is the nature of the beast when in comes to used vehicles that have been customized.

Love this EX, I hope you get this Apoc. It not I hope it's still around when I'm in the market a year from now. I would want the seats though, gotta haul some kids. I'm also not real wild on the welded diff but I could cope until an arb was saved for.

$24K
Throw it up on Epay for $24K and a clever description:
If you do not own a toolbox, have never changed your own oil, and are scared of firearms: THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FOR YOU.
If you have been posting on Facebook all about how excited you are for pumpkin latte season: THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FOR YOU.
If you get offended easy and often, whine to your co-workers, and complain a lot: THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FOR YOU.
If you feel you are owed anything in the world & have a BS job where you fail to produce: THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FOR YOU.
If you own a Bieber album, white Oakley’s, affliction t-shirts, or those cheesy stitched-pocket jeans: THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FOR YOU.
If you consider the 2nd Amendment an anachronistic relic and have never owned a firearm: THIS VEHICLE IS NOT FOR YOU.
If, however, you have IRON Guts and consider adverse weather an excuse to do stupid stuff: THIS MIGHT BE YOUR TRUCK.
Do you laugh at danger, and tempt fate?
Have you ever uttered the words, "Hold my beer and watch this ..."?
Do you have the number of a friend with cash memorized for bail?
When you pass an abandoned flatbed farm truck along a fence-line do you consider taking on another project?
Is your ol' lady really sick of the random piles of parts, greasy footprints, and empty beer bottles in the garage?
-could you not care less?
Do you own a service manual for every vehicle you ever owned?
Do you still miss your first ride?
Can you carry on a two hour conversation discussing tools, scars, and hi-lift jacks?
Do you consider the Prius an abominable affront to the Gods of displacement, torque, and All Mighty Internal Combustion?
