C6 to ZF5 swap, couple questions.
Is there any problem leaving the column shifter in place for a while after the manual trans is installed? Eventually I'll remove it, and replace or disable the steering wheel lock.
For the NSS wiring, just splice it together to close the circuit, any issues with that?
Started cutting away the floor covering to replace the blank auto floor shifter plate, and then thought, why not just leave it and cut a hole for the shifter? (Thought of this after I got it completely exposed.....). The auto and manual covers appear to be the same, other than the opening for the shifter.
All ready to drop the C6, and the rental store with the trans jack changed their hours, closing at noon on Sat now.
Thanks.

Thanks Steve. Finished the swap today, and "Ole Hee Haul" is on the road again.
BTW it's an 88 F250 4x4 351
I noticed when I lift off the gas to shift, the throttle response is a bit slow. The engine actually revs up for a moment as I clutch it. Does a manual use a heavier return spring(s) on the gas pedal or at the intake? Maybe it's just the cable sticking?
I'm assuming that it's ok to use the computer that came with the automatic? I've read up on other people doing this swap and they never mentioned changing it.
That overdrive 5th should make highway miles a lot less painful on the wallet!
