Not quite broke down in TX/AZ - map sensor???

I'm delivering the latest truck I built to Los Angeles and I'm having a little trouble 1300 miles in.

History - this was a cab off 'restoration'. It's an '02 CCSB with 147k miles all stock except new gp's, uvch's/vc gaskets, plenum inserts, RR boots, int'l bellowed up pipes, rebuilt turbo and pedestal, T500, new IPR, HPO lines, my custom veggie system and some other things. Stock injectors and tuning.

Had no power pulling an overpass west of Amarillo. Aeroforce Scangauge was reading -1.5 psi - even at wot. Talked to JimJam while I stopped at Cadillac Ranch and decided to give the MAP some Fonzi love and check the electrical connector and boom it reads 0.5 psi and runs good! For .5 mile... I smacked the MAP again and got the same results.

My destination is Mayer, AZ tonite. I'd love for someone near I-40 to loan me a MAP sensor today!! I'll mail it back next week! I have a pile of them at the shop......

Nowhere close to me. Can't you just unplug it for now to get by?

Didn't know I could unplug it?

It's running fine, just real anemic. Not real noticeable on this flat ground at 75mph. But hills are coming up...

I believe unplugging it defaults to a pre-loaded table in the PCM kind of like what unplugging the ICP sensor does. Do a quick test on level ground to verify.

Will do Tim!

I should be packing enough veggie to make it all the way there.

Always wish there was more time... Seems like I never get to visit people like I used to when I was on the road all the time.

Hahaha, no grey dog - but I'd love a veggie-powered jet!! I spent more money on tolls in Oklahoma than I will on fuel for the whole trip.

Btw Brad, I did the penny mod to these door locks. Next time I think I'm just gonna do the aftermarket actuators... I had hours invested in taking those damn things out and fixing them!!

Yup, that's why I just replaced my actuators. It wasn't worth the time to even open up the old ones.

It's all internal to the little motor in the door lock actuators.

Same as the aluminum-foil "fix", but you tin-snip a penny to the same size as the varistor, and plug it in place of it.

See: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/4...cks-fixed.html

Just did the Turner and Will Rogers last month, and the tolls aren't all-that-bad. Unless, of course, you are spending NOTHING at all on fuel!

Yes Pop, free fuel is a beautiful thing!! So is the 750 mile veggie range with Excursion tank in spare tire location.
