Cant stop fule leak

I have a fule I can't seam to fix

While driving the fuel filter lid poop off making it crossed threaded. It was very difficult to take off but I got it done. I replaced it back on and made to the the next town where I replaced the filter. I got one that had a new lid and gasket.
I put a riffraff Fuel Rail Crossover? (FRx) - Riffraff Diesel Performance over a year ago. The filter was replaced about 5k miles before it pop the top off the filter housing

It keeps leaking out the lid. I have taken it off several times to reseal it.

Is it possible that it is over pressuring?

Thanks for your help

The gasket is tapered and only goes on one way. Have also read that some makes of gaskets don't like to seal no matter how they are installed.

That is correct way. You can get o rings now that work great and squared seals that do very well Viton makes both but I have never had a cap blow off even up to 125 psi when I had a Walbro before I removed strong spring from my fpr. The crappy beveled gasket fails often had a bad batch from Napa few years ago on wife's X pain in ***

I used to use Napa Gold fuel filters. It comes with a new lid that has a standard wrench fitting to assist tightening and the o-ring/gasket never leaked. I honestly can't say that about the OEM filters.

Using my LARGE channel locks (jaws wide open) as a make-do spanner works beautifully for me, and has been for the past 8 years.

That is also what I used the first time until I remembered that I still had my old wheel wrench (for steam vavle hand wheels) from my steam generation days. Almost like it was made to order.

Would any of you know where I could buy the the o-ring? Or the size and I will research. I will have to buy a new filter to get a new o-ring at NAPA.

I have used the channel locks several times myself works great.

Your local Ford dealer may have just the oring, but I'm really not sure if they sell it separately.

When you installed the FRx did you test fuel pressure after the install? If the spring on the regulator is not centered it will cause fuel pressure to shoot up to 90+ psi. That is the only explanation I can think of for the filter bowl lid to pop off.

No I did not do any test. Could that spring move? I drove it for over a year after I installed it.
