axle question

For some reason when I try to do a search on here with my phone it goes to a Google search. Anyhow...

What axles are in our trucks?
00 4wd
I'm thinking about swapping out my gears. Any suggestions on what gears? I'm running 35s. I have a BP camper 10k I drag on occasion.

Single or dual rears? If I recall correctly, single should be a Ford rear with a Dana 50 front. Dual should be a Dana 80 rear, Dana 60 front.

2000 F250 4X4 will have a Dana 50 front and a Sterling 10.5 rear axle.

depends on what is in there now. I like 4.10 ratio, it gives decent power and mileage.

if you want stump pulling power go with a 4.88 or lower gear. but this will kill fuel mileage.

No looking for all pull because it's currently my daily driver until the mustang build is complete
I drive it from home in south al to Se tx regularly. 6 hours one way so I need to keep a little mileage

Do you tow a lot? With only pulling 10K it should be like it ain't back there unless you pull a lot of hills. If you pull lots of hill and tow a lot, 4.33 with those tires hands down.
My son runs 4.56 with 35 tires and 6 inch lift and with his 5R110, 6.0L, he pull same RPM's as I do with the 4R100 and 4.10 rear axle in my dually. Hope that helps.

Not sure what gears it has yet. I haven't looked at it.
My truck was doing good to hold 50 mph towing the camper. The tranny stayed over 200*
Since then I have fused the coolers and completely drained the tranny and put all new fluid and filter. It still drives good. Shifts the same as before.

There is a set of 4:30s for sale in the parts listings. Don't know if they'll fit your truck but they're there.

Have you priced this out yet? To have a shop put gears in your truck will run you over $2k. If you can do it yourself that's great.

If gears are out of your or friends wheel house then don't learn on your ford way to much money you have a high pinion Dana 50 and 10.5 rear. Doing it wrong will be a night mare for you.

I was quoted 350 to install the gears at a shop by my house. I have never tried to install them and have no intention on learning on this truck
