Question Moto-Kote

I have heard the inventor/owner of Moto-Kote on Americas Trucking Network, and drivers who claim to have used it with excellent results. As I believe nothing I hear and only half off what I see, I don't necessarily accept what they are saying.

Have any of the members here used it and what results, if any, did you observe?? I have 99 250 SD V-10 that has 220,000 miles on it. It uses about a quart of oil every 4-5000 miles, using Mobil 1 and a K&N filter. Putting headers on it next week and will be putting it on the road more this year.

I just want to do what ever I can to extent its life as long as I can. I can't afford 6 G's for a new motor.

Sounds like the latest snake oil gimmick to me. Just keep doing what you've been doing. At 220K, that V-10 should have lots of life left in it. Burning a quart every 4-5K miles is nothing. My 5.4 burns more than that with 100K less miles on it.

I have used it in all my vehicles for years. I never noticed any difference in anything. I have put a lot of miles on many vehicles, and they never wore out. I also run synthetic oil and change it regularly. The way I see it is that it's suppose to coat the metal with moly, reduce friction and wear, and extend the time needed for a rebuild.

That's what I was thinking. Some engines burn a quart between changes off of the dealers lot. The 351 and 302 that I ran did, from the day I bought them.
I was taught that if it didn't burn a quart in less than 800 miles, don't open it up. A quart in 4-5,000 miles is normal, and expected, on an engine with that kind of miles. Saying that, I would be VERY careful about additives. Obviously, what you are doing has worked well. Changing things may not hurt, or it might. You won't know until it is too late.
No engine will last forever, and there are no mechanics in a bottle.
