seat belt chime

Does anyone know how to disable the belt minder chime on a 2015 SD? I tried unplugging the harness under the seat, but it turns on the airbag light. No instructions in the owner's manual like there was for my 2005.

I don't think you can disable them anymore. I just ignore the chime and it will go off after a few minutes.

There is a post in the sticky in the 6.7 diesel forum for door chime. There are instructions within that sticky thread on how to turn off the belt minder.

I traced my seatbelt end on a piece of sheet metal and stuck it in so the truck thinks the buckle is buckled

From your owners manual:

Deactivating and Activating the Belt-Minder Feature (Driver Only)
WARNING While the system allows you to deactivate it, this system is designed to improve your chances of being safely belted and surviving an accident. We recommend you leave the system activated for yourself and others who may use the vehicle. To reduce the risk of injury, do not deactivate or activate the system while driving the vehicle.

Note: If you are using MyKey, you cannot disable the Belt-Minder. Also, if the Belt-Minder has been previously disabled, it will be re-enabled during the use of MyKey. See MyKey™ (page 51).

Read Steps 1 - 4 thoroughly before proceeding with the programming
procedure. Deactivate or activate the system by performing the following procedure:

Before following the procedure, make sure that:
• The parking brake is set.
• The transmission is in park (P).
• The ignition is off.
• All vehicle doors are closed.
• The driver's safety belt is unbuckled.

1. Turn the ignition on. Do not start the
engine.

2. Wait until the safety belt warning light
turns off (about one minute). Step 3
must be completed within 30 seconds
after the safety belt warning light turns
off.

3. Buckle then unbuckle the safety belt
three times at a moderate speed,
ending with the safety belt in the
unbuckled state. After Step 3, the
safety belt warning light will turn on.

4. While the safety belt warning light is
on, buckle then unbuckle the safety
belt. After Step 4, the safety belt
warning light will flash for confirmation.

• This will disable the feature if it is
currently enabled.

• This will enable the feature if it is
currently disabled.

it took both me and the wife twenty mins to disable my seat belt chime for my 2010. it only gives you seconds to do what it says before you have to do something else, a real pain, but we gut-re done

1. I NEVER drive without my seat belt. I want the chime off so I can back it out of the shed to wash it, or hook up trailer. I also like to start the vehicle and let it circulate the oil while I buckle up.

2. I have tried the above TNTC (Too Numerous To Count) and it does not work for me. I guess I can stand the chime for a little while.

3. I wish there were a way to disable that g*****n door chime. Now that one drives me absolutely nuts. I just have to take the key out or or flip the latch in the door (actually pretty easy) if I want to leave the door open and key in ignition.

Trace the sound to the source and drill a hole in it.
