Diesel F250 RCSB?

Coming back from Raleigh today, down US64, I came upon a truck in Ramseur that I don't ever recall seeing before. It was a 96-97 F250 diesel regular cab SHORTBED. Very clean truck, big tires/alloy rims, etc. Old gray haired geezer driving it. It was really badazz looking with the short bed! Wish I had gotten a pic of it. Did they produce such an animal or was this a modded truck?

Modded. the only way they came with a short bed was a super cab or crew cab.

Reg cabs were all long bed

How about a RCSB F450?

Ford Pick up truck 1989

7.3 Diesel, 5spd. 209k, doesn't run due to problems with fuel distribution per the ad...

I can't tell you how many times I've passed by this truck and wondered what kind of freak it was with 10 lug wheels, leaf sprung front and a short box... THIS is a truck you do a 4x4 conversion with and take it off road...

Bet it rides as smooth as any other 15k gvw short box out there...

I'd say it'd be perfect for moving two skids of concrete, but I don't know if 2 skids will fit in a 6 foot bed...

Odd but not factory. Ad says frame cut for short bed.

Wonder why? Some sort of trailer yard tug?

^ that's my motto too.

short bed trucks look cool but after owning one,id never get another.they're a pita when you want to haul lumber/sheetrock and just use the truck like a truck in general.
that custom f450 short bed would ride like a total rock.i couldn't imagine riding in that thing lol.you could remove all but 2-3 rear leafs though so she'd at least pretend to use the shocks.
