F-100 1954 cab & tray over a 1972 F-100 chassis

Hey all, I have this 54 F100 thats sitting on a 72 chassis width is the same but length of wheelbase out by 127mm ( 5 inches ) . Have sorted that out and can move the rear springs / mounts / axle forward enough to match specs ( and take out the gap between tray and cab )

I thought maybe while I'm at it I could drop the height of the chassis to get that lowered mean look.
The rear shackle is pretty close to the bed now but the front one has plenty of room to move up if I flip it over .
I havent done any of this yet but have looked and notice that the angle of the diff changes with the front shackle moving up that much . Ok yes if the rear one moves up the same it would work but it would have to
poke through the bed ( not a good look ) .
Will the diff being on a tilted up angle , effect the drive shaft behavior ?

inverted shackle front

normal position of shackle

Normal diff position - slight angle

Lowered position - angle increased

Depending on how much you lower it you may have tire rub issues with your fenders due to the wider track width.

You will have to cut the spring perches off and re-weld them to get the correct pinion angle. It has to match the angle of the output shaft on the trans. Not a huge job, if you can weld.

I cheated and used caster wedges between the springs and rear to correct the pinion angle. Might need to change the spring center bolt if the wedges are really thick.

Track is width across the front or rear axles. You are confusing that with wheelbase, which is center-to-center distance of the front and rear wheels on each side.

No , I got wheelbase ( length ) correct now, I moved the rear springs / axle assembly forward 127mm ( or 5" for you guys ) .

The numbers you are referencing....110/115 inches, are the wheelbase. I don't think the track width is over 9 feet. 3 meters to you....
