performance mods

Hi everyone. i have a 1996 f-250 7.3l powerstroke. truck has had a different motor put in due to the original 1996 motor developing bad compression in two cylinders. the new motor that is in it now is a 1995 7.3l powerstroke with roughly 50,000 original miles. i have had the turbo rebuilt with wicked wheel turbine. A TS 6 position chip and Baby Swamps stage one injectors. i have been satisfied with how the truck has performed so far, but would like to make some upgrades to improve engine performance. i just feel like its still too sluggish. i am running stock rims and tires and stock suspension and trans. i have heard that if you are running bigger injectors, it is recommended to upgrade the stock mechanical fuel system to a new electronic fuel system to provide the bigger injectors with the right amount of fuel. i have also heard that if you are running bigger injectors, it is also recommended to upgrade the high pressure oil pump. i don't really know where to start with all of this and i am trying to decide which upgrade to sink my money in to first and what is best to do. any suggestions or info is greatly appreciated. thank you.

Seems like everyone likes the Adrenaline hpops. And there's a lot of threads for doing a diy efuel kit to save some money. I've been reading a ton of them getting ready to do mine.

Terminator t500 is IMO a more reliable unit.

Efuel is IMO more important than hpop though you want both.I ran my stock fuel system pressure really low with just a chip in a hard pull.

So the hpop and fuel is recommended with just stage ones the stock hpop and fuel pump will supply enough to make it run good and no issues but you don't get the full potential out of the stage 1s. There is adrenaline hpop but there is also the t-500 from terminator which is a steal for it's potential. For fuel a lot of people get a superduty pump and get a water seperater and a fuel filter then put a regulator on it and return from the front of the heads back to the tank

The first thing I would do before you put any more power to it, is get gauges. You definitely need a Pyrometer to keep the EGTs in check. You are probably running it too hot now with the bigger injectors and don't know it. If your truck has an automatic trans, then a trans temp gauge would be #2, and then a boost gauge for #3. If you go to electric fuel, I would do a fuel pressure gauge. Gauges are the most important thing to do before adding any power mods.

Look into getting a scan tool to watch some data. That will tell you if you need a HPOP or not. If you do, the T500 is a great upgrade at a very good price. If you are worried about fuel pressure, hook up a pressure gauge and see if it is keeping up. You really don't want to be throwing parts at the truck unless you know they are needed for your performance wants. You could spend a lot of money and get no where.

What are we looking for in terms of needing a hpop with the live data?

Dropping icp/raising dc% under wot/hard working conditions means you need a bigger hpop.

What he said.

There is a commanded value for ICP. With a pump that is weak or cannot keep up, this commanded value will not be hit. This results in a decrease in power and higher EGT's.

You can tell how easily the pump is keeping up with the demand by watching IPR duty cycle. If your duty cycle stays below 45%, the pump is doing just fine. If you are seeing 65%+, the pump is struggling.

First off you need to make sure the truck is running in top condition before modding any further.

Second the stock fuel system is more than enough for baby swaps/stageI's. The only benefit of e-fuel would be a little better idle.

Third save smoe cash and get a t500 hpop it more than enough

I don't know if I would say this.
The Adrenaline has been around for a loooong time, and I personally have never heard of any failures.

Having said that, I would go with the T500 with Stage-1's just because you don't need all the oil an ADR can move. Moving more oil than what you really need doesn't do you any good. Size things appropriately.

I thought I read of some issues? Maybe I'm thinking of the stealth then.now I'm questioning my statement.I don't want to spread falsehoods.
