1964 transmission swap

I have a 64 with a 292, original transmission, three on a tree. I would like to swap the transmission to put it on the floor also that is a four or five speed. Any year of ford trucks i should look into?

Thank you for your time.

There are a lot of options when it comes to transmissions. Sometimes it is best to decide on what you want, granny gear, overdrive, etc. and then define the transmission based on those parameters.

A granny gear trans from a '64, and its appropriate bell are an option.

The '64 truck uses the bell housing for the rear mounts. Its pretty doubtful you will find a modern trans that will fit your bell housing, without modifying your bell or trans or both.
Several members here have used a modified 3 speed bell (like yours) from John Mummert to install a T-5 trans behind Y-blocks.

Try the search option here for additional information.

Good luck.
