Value of a 1978 Ford F250

I was curious if anyone could tell me the value of a 1978 Ford 250 with a 351w 400 transmission the whole vehicle has been mostly redone and has recieved new paint job within the last couple of years. It is a 4wd automatic. Interior like new some paint chipping off the sash front drive shaft was rebuilt, master cylinder replaced in the past week.

I'm assuming that you meant a 351m/400 engine with a C6 if it's an automatic. You'd have to post pics, I spent $2000 on mine but it had a D60 front axle which adds some value.

well seeing it since you got the 351m and will be gettin about 30mpg i would say its worth around $8000. . . Haha nah uhm i would base how much i would pay for it on the shape the motor is in if the body is decent as you noted. I paid 2000 bux for my ole 76 4x4 360 manual that had recent paint and a line x bedliner that supposedly had an older rebuilt motor. . hard to tell what something is worth without seeing it tho. but personally i wouldnt pay more than 2k for something like that unless the motor was fresh.

That's outrageous. Only very rare models would even come close to bringing that kind of money. The most I ever see a fully restored single cab, long bed, 4x4 truck go for is around 7 or 8k.

first that sounds like some ebay money. for 17 the truck would need to be a 79 350 4x4 long box in top shape. its your truck feel free to list it at what ever price you choose but be ready to sit on it. i would agree with crazy 6 to 8. if you could prove to me as a buyer that all the sheetmetal was ford no lmc junk i would think about maybe 10. maybe.

Rebuilt

The truck has been pretty much rebuilt from the ground up very small amount of rust on the frame. probably close to 12k worth of work done to the truck. Just trying to get an opinion on it that includes the cost of the truck.

Ive seen trucks that look nice like that one go for around 4k-4.5k in my area craigslist. im sure someone would pay 5k for it on the right day. and im sure someone could go asking 8k for it. kinda depends what the market bears in your area. everywhere can be a little different. but personally since its got what i see as a less desireable M motor in it i certainly wouldnt pay through the nose for it. Although its definitely a nice lookin rig.

Nice truck. I like the maroon and round headights. Was it originally a Custom or a Ranger model? I can see that truck going for at least $10k around where I'm from. Ask $12k and see if you have any bites. Good luck!

Was nice looking til they put the extra holes in the top of the bed for them goofy looking rails...... I think some OEM bed rails and NO extra holes would of been a better route.

4 to 8 K truck all depends on the motor and chassis an drive line and what has been done to them (rebuild, over hauled ect...).
