so I go out and install and updated tune package from H & S and put the wild tune in...take it out and do the transmission relearn...come back home leaking like a sieve for about 10 minutes then it stops...let it cool down install the No power or stock setting on the tuner and take the same trip come home and not a drip...gonna stay stock until i can save up 2KI guess any thoughts why this is? Obviously big tunes with big boost create stress but why is it so intermittent?

Trying to keep up with you starting new threads..... So did you find the source of the leak in the last thread you started?

sorry

oops guess I should have added it to the other one...no I cant find where its leaking now the lower left corner of the radiator is where it appears be collecting and them to the frame then to the ground...sat all night not and not a drop...Im gonna try and get in there and check the radiator hoses...maybe I will get lucky and that's all it will be...according to the Oasis report it has been replaced once already back in 2009 but im sure there is no warranty on the repair

My thoughts on the radiator issues on these trucks is the core mounts. The issue is enhanced when the mounts are worn and damaged. The long bed crew cab is the worst, the mounts do not allow enough deflection for the twist of the frame acutely damaging the radiator under the right condition. Im not saying this is the only reason by far, low coolant and leaks also can cause a lot of issues as well.

Here is a example

With that being said it would not surprise me that the radiator could be damaged again. In the oasis did they state if the hoses where replaced. If they where you might cross reference the part number to see if they where upgraded to the newer style dual o-ring hoses?

If they where i haven't seen or heard many issues with the newer style unless the o-rings where damaged during installation. My guess is the radiator tank is leaking where it is crimped to the core.

It is easier to identify the leak if you can use a pressure tester and pump the coolant system up to the 15-16 PSI spec. I would identify the leak and insure the coolant system has no leaks before presuming you have a head gasket issue. If the system is leak free and you are seeing coolant loss out the pressure cap of the degas bottle i would look more to other relevant issues including head gaskets. Improper diagnostic of the root issue could be costly to you.

Never even gave head gaskets a thought .... drive tonight about 45 miles shut it down leaked for about 5 minutes maybe about .5 pint drove it home parked it in the driveway and leaked for about 30 seconds this is weird. So the next question would be what is a good replacement radiator other than. The 800 mishimoto, I'm not gonna be beating on this thing other than towing a 2 foot aluminum snowmobile trailer.....by the way nothing at all out of the de gas bottle
