97 F150 Lariat
Couple months ago i picked up a new to me truck. Its a 1997 F150 Lariat with automatic 5.4 with 180k. First thing i had to replace a couple coil pack cause its was missing really bad. It also needed a deep cleaning because it was stored in a garage that cat problem so the truck smelled really bad. Someone removed the back latch on the back half door that mounts to the truck. I replaced it and now the door will not open. Any ideas? Next the speakers are going out and some are gone. So its time to replace all of them. I dont need anything special just dont want to waste money on crap replacements. What did you replace your speakers with?

latch...not sure, my rusty 98 gives me problems, i have to push pull the door while pulling the handle. possible bent linkage from the first remover. maybe bad hinge pins casuing the door to bind...
I put kappa infinity speakers in mine, but i amplified them so i wouldnt go that route. once i actually blew a door speaker by not amplifiing it. any which way you go would be fine. most anything aftermarket is better than stock. just remember an aftermarket radio usually puts out 45 watts per channel (speaker), ive never heard a number but i can imagine a stock radio doing more than that. so if you bought 300watt speakers, they probably are rated 200-275 rms (constant wattage) you wouldnt even be getting close to thier limit. but like i stated before like i did, you can under power speakers. I would stick with a 2 way speaker if you are going to use stock wiring and or radio. im not sure youd benefit from a 3way speaker. sometimes expensive isnt better when the setup is taken into picture. i once had a sony xplode 12" sub in my truck, i couldnt kill that thing, poor wiring, loud music at -10.. you name it. Had a $200 mtx 5000 kill 2 amplifiers before it died. lasted 3 months. krutchfield.com is a good place to get started, you can enter your vehicle and they will tell you what you need. its been a while and ive had my current speakers in my last 3 trucks so i dont remmebr their sizes.
