Eye Candy Upgrades
Installed a couple of things on the truck recently
#1 - The Titan 50-gallon fuel tank.
#2 - Got the front windows tinted to match the rear. Hopefully will cut down on the blinding reflection on those blasted chrome trim rings on the vents:
#3 - Added the blue vinyl letters to the front chrome trim ring.
And #4 - Added the vinyl letters to the tailgate to match the lower Adobe trim:
Was a little skeptical at first on ordering the Adobe, but didn't want chrome and black would have gotten lost in the dark blue. But I'm happy with the result.
The lettering was a snap to install, used the Windex method and it worked great. Gave me a good bit of time to position each letter. They were not a perfect fit, I thought the front fit better than the tailgate ones. But good enough a man running for his life would never notice a thing. I put all the letters on, blotted the excess Windex, then went back and smoothed out the few bubbles after the first letter had dried just a bit.

Thanks. I don't like the fact that they discontinued the Adobe lower accent. If you want the two-tone paint now, you'll get silver, which isn't so bad, but then you're stuck with the black interior.

Not yet. Haven't taken it to the dealer to get it changed. Thinking about just waiting until the first oil change. Only has about 1800 miles so it'll be a while. I had asked to have that done before we took delivery of the truck, but they didn't want to reprogram it until the tank was installed

Cool! It's nice to know the dealership will do it. I have tried researching on these forums about it and I have found some threads where people were given problems, and other users were explaining the menu system to show the Ford techs to do it lol.

Took it to Crouch Auto in Conowingo on a recommendation from Eric at Innovative Diesel. We were going to do the install ourselves, but saved $200 off the price, and decided to let somebody else deal with it. Took a little over 2 hours. There is a Royal Farms nearby with a good price on diesel for filling it up so they can check for leaks.

Is there an easy way to get the vents out? I'd looked and looked at ones on the old 6.4 for 4 years, never did figure out how to remove them - tho admittedly I didn't try too hard ... why Ford thought chrome on the dash was a good idea is beyond me. Figured maybe they could be painted.
We have good taste!
