I doubt you will see this to soon. The V10 has not sold as Ford had hoped so I do not think it will get to much attention. Of course I am useally wrong.

I've heard it will be out in late 2004, as a 2005 model, or out in 2005. I've heard 375 horse from a couple fairly reputable sources. But I also heard that since Cadillac is going to put the 500 HP V-12 in the Escalades (good grief that EXT is UGLY) that Ford was re-thinking the HP rating and may take it to 425 earlier than they had planned. Doesn't it just **** you off that they let out this motor with 275, then 300 while Ford knew the whole time that eventually they would go to 3 valves and 375+ horsepower ? Why don't car manufacturers give us the goods earlier ? Maybe they would have sold many, many more V-10's if they were 375+ ? The 6.0 PSD has more hp and torque available and will grow in power over the next few years. Look at the Cummins 5.9 six cylinder, it went from 160 HP and 360 ft lbs to 205 and 555 ft lbs. Same engine basically (except the 4 valve per cylinder head on the high output). Benefits are the same as every engine ever made; if you can get more air in, and more air out faster, you'll get more gas mixed with the air and have more HP.

According to media print, the Cadillac V-12 will remain a concept engine.

No 3 valve V-10 yet. HP is right at 300 @ 5000 and torque is 365 @ 3750 for the 5.4 - 3 valve.

I am never one to say someone is wrong, cause then it's usually me that's proven wrong. But I've heard from several sources that GM is putting the V-12 in the Escalade and the Escalade EXT. I will try and find the articles so that I may quote them, rather than just shoot my mouth off, I'll ba back, Ken

Ken04 I read the same thing. The V16 was a show unit with no production potential ever but Cadi wants to counter the Germans with a V12.

According to the Jan/Feb '03 Truck Trend the Escalade with Northstar V12 is a done deal and goes on sale in the US late summer '03. It will have displacement-on-demand technology and can be easily tuned to 750hp but will be rated at 500hp for the Escalde application. Truck Trend drove/tested one and has it listed at 5.9s for 0-60. I saw another test drive (but I can't remember where now...) that got a 0 to 60 of 5.7s.

If the 5.4 and the 6.8 are modulars, then Ford can go to a 8.2 V12. Wow a V12 in a pickup. I can see Dodge and Chevy shaking in their boots right now.

Yea a V-12 would be getting 8 mpg. What Ford needs to do is a 4 valve head and a better transmission. Thats my main complaint, this POS transmission.
