why we run ford/international trucks since 1983

My dad started our grading business in 1982. Before that he was a hardcore GM man. But he loved his international trucks. So when he found out that ford was putting an international diesel in there trucks he put in his order first with capital ford our dealer. He got the first diesel pickup that capital ford sold. Since then we have had nothing else but international powered ford. We have had all the versions(up to 2003 of corse, we saw that one coming) and have loved all of them and still have most of them. But it was not until one very cold night back in January of this year that we really found out how tough these trucks are. Our service truck that we work out of everyday is a 1999 f350 cc 4x4 auto truck. We bought it at an auction sale sad shape in 2010. Motor was shot Dusted and eithered to death. Pickup box beat to pieces.Interior covered in dust. 288,000 hard miles. But we didn't give much for it. We spent a lot of time on it, added a service bed, t30 ingersol rand air compressor, fuel tank, rebuilt the motor, updated it to a 2000 model turbo, coolant filter, spin on trans filter, f550 front springs, rebuilt front end, heavy service rear spings. 46637 air filter. The truck is heavy. Its loaded with all kinds of tools, 100 gal of fuel plus the compressor. So it came a big snow storm here in January. We push snow with some of our equipment when it does. Now here in NC 12 inches is a lot for us. We loaded up our 310D john deere backhoe on our tilt top trailer behind our 7100 international truck. To head out for the 15 mi. To get to the shopping center were we push snow. Well this particular storm it had been very cold a few days before and soon as it started snowing it stuck to the road. Which normally doesn't happen that way. It was about 11pm at that point. We started out with the trucks but as soon as the wheels on the tractor trailer hit rhe road it wouldn't go. It slid right into the ditch. With only a few inches down. We had to get to our job. So we pulled the service truck in front tied a chain to both tow hooks on the international. Put the 350 in low range and gave it all it had. The truck came out of the ditch and we pulled the whole thing like that for the whole 15 mi. Low range and 2nd gear with the motor taching 2500 to 2800 the whole time. The 350 was weigh down heavy with extra cutting edges and fuel and everything else. We had just the week before put a new set of goodyear wranglers on it. When I made left turns I could look in my right mirror and see the side of the trailer sliding behind me. But we made it.

Just wanted to tell my story of why Ford makes the best dang truck on the planet.
