98 Explorer XLT rear shocks

I have a 98 explorer xlt and need to replace the rear shocks. I looked online and it came up with multiple sizes and styles that said they fit. I was wondering what the correct size snd style was. Thanks

Should only be a couple flavors for '98. Sport or 4dr, maybe 4x4 vs 4x2, and maybe a suspension option or two.

Pull one off and measure it or take it in to compare if you can't figure it out otherwise.

Rancho or KYB are preferred, Monroe will do if you aren't going to drive it a lot. Anything is better than worn out stockers, at least for a while.

I put the KYB KG5490 Gas-A-Just on my '98. If you go to Rock Auto and find the shock, click the "Info" button and it will tell you things like overall length, stroke, etc.
