I'm a Lucky Dog!

When I bought Ol' Red last Spring I was so excited to have another 1951 F1 that I convinced myself that I would love her the way she was. Well, truth be told she didn't run so great, didn't stop worth a darn, and she handled like a possessed dump truck. The only way I could afford to transform her into the cruise-machine she is today was to sell the nicest Harley I ever owned. I searched high and low to find that bike. Fuel injected Heritage Softail, two tone, and it was a one owner bike. The original owner was super meticulous about that bike so there wasn't a dent, ding, or even a smudge on that beautiful bike. I ended up selling her to my brother in law's co-worker.
So the truck is just the way I wanted her and I've been busy doing the 8-5 thing and buying selling all kinds of stuff on the side. About a month or so ago I was checking out motorcycles on my local craigslist when I ran across the bike I sold sixteen months ago. The guy was using my photos for his listing so i texted the number and asked him what the deal was. He lost his place when his landlord sold it and the bike was now in a storage facility. One thing led to another and he offered me a sweetheart deal on her so i bought her back! I took a few hours after work to clean her all up and she's just as nice as when I sold her (only with 1,000 miles more on the odometer). Here she is sitting next to Ol' Red, I'm a lucky Dog!!

Not often you get a second chance! Nice looking bike! Better get in some rides soon or you'll need snow tires on it.

Its a beauty that's for sure, and the way it came home where it belongs, is great. Darn, it would sure be nice to have my Shovel Head back, lost it along with everything else I owned back in my old life.

Some things are just meant to be. You, the truck, the bike, it's fate.

Thanks everyone, I can't believe I own it again. Here's a photo the guy used to advertise it. What caught my eye when I saw the ad on craigslist was this photo that I took and Ol' Red was still sitting in my driveway waiting to be worked on in the background, maybe it was fate.

Fantastic story and a beautiful bike. You are a lucky guy!

And that truck looks great as well. Even before all the work you put into it.

When the stars align, the stars align. Don't bother buying a ticket - you've already won the lottery twice.

Cool! I guess I didn't realize you are in Buffalo. I spent the first 32 years of my life in Cheektowaga, still have 2 brothers and their families there (Elma).

Not only a great looking truck, but your garage area makes me envious as well.
