'04 Crew, Suggest a bottle jack storage location.

So i've had two stock scissor jacks break/strip in the past. So i'm gonna find a bottle jack for the truck and need a place to store it.

I've read bottle jacks need to be stored in upright positions which means not storing it under the rear passenger seat. But i'm not sure how accurate that claim is.

I'm considering fabricating a storage boor buying one) to put along the rear frame if possible. Since I haul off road toys, and help friends move, and haul trash to the landfill, I can't use a tool box in the bed of the truck.

What ideas can we come up with for this solution? Thanx friends.

As I recall, the 1997-'04 Heritidge trucks used a screw type bottle jack. I'd just get one out of a junkyard. Clean, lube and paint it and put it under the seat. The stock jack tools probably work with it.. bottle jacks do not need to stand upright altho they should in case the reservoir e or pump leaks

Alrighty. I didn't realize the Heritage trucks came with a bottle style jack. I don't remember that on the 02 Lightning I owned. Anyway, I'll check into that and see if I can bungee strap that style to the jack mount on my new body style 04.

either the Heritage style, or the '87-'96 models had the screw type bottle. one of them did, and yards are loaded with either

yup, that's the jack I was thinking of.. when I was growing up, my grandfather had an '88 and my dad had a '97 for a few years. I knew at least one of them had a screw type bottle jack
