'78 troubleshoot.

Here we go, in my '78 the windsheild washer is not working. Checked at the pump, then at the switch, green/black wire. Is the power from the white/black wire? Or where is the power source for the washer pump? Also have a power steering issue. It works about half the time, and sporatically! Really annoying while manuvering in a parking lot. Do I change the pump, or is the trouble in the steering sector. It' turn easy then hard then easy, or will turn hard all the way to lock.

what kind of shape are the p/s lines in? If they're old they could be expanding which would seem like the pressure had dropped. at least until the pump has time to build pressure back up.
