exhaust

yesterday my exhaust rusted off right at the the front of my cat, figured I would just run a straight pipe but wasn't to sure where to start. today i cut both of my cats off and had no luck finding a replacement pipe. where should i go from here and where could i find the parts i need? i would like a pipe to go from my manifolds to my muffler. i am a diy and i am all about saving a buck when i can so if you have any suggestions im all ears

go to the wrecking yard and pull off a good condition Y pipe. being a 96 your bronco is OBD-II and needs those cats in place to function correctly.

thats the thing, it runs great it is just very loud. and i was thinking about throwing a pair of full length headers and a high flow cat. Do you think my engine light will stay on? and if so will this trick the engine in any way in regards to how the computer controls it? to the point where it would hurt performance or just overall quality of how the engine would run with stock manifolds and tubes?

your setup has 3 o2 sensors. You must maintain 1 in each side header and the 3rd after the cat converter. so depending on where you live a visual inspection would fail if only 1 cat was present.

with out the o2 sensors in the correct location the computer may not read the A/F ratio correct thus hurting performance. so your header, cat setup may work.
