Build and price is running!

Just what I said. I'll probably be messing with it the rest of the night!

looks like you can't get the 2.7 with a crew cab and 6.5 bed.

I am a little disappointed. I am looking for a XL crew with six and a half bed. It is coming out to more than three thousand more than a 2014. Price for four wheel drive is up, price for 101a upgrade package is way up and it no longer includes chrome and trailer hitch. Chrome package is up and they make you take FX4 package with it. For another $1800.00 or so I can get an XLT. In my line of work I need the vinyl seats and floor and would prefer to skip the amenities and save some money.

Tinkering around with the builder now and it seems like going with an XLT model Screw 6 1/2' bed 4x4 you cannot have either Ecoboost engines (2.7 or 3.5) instead you get the 5.0L Coyote. Now I do like the Coyote just because its a lot easier to work on over the aging Modular (5.4/4.6). But why can I not have the truck I want on their build and price? Would one have to say what they want at a dealer or do you still have the red tape to go through?

I was able to build an XLT 4x4 ecoboost with either the 3.31's or the 3.55's. I'm guessing that non limited slip means open diff.

I'm really concerned about pricing. The previous gen is expensive enough but holy cow have they jumped! Anyway, I haven't been shopping and I'm not going to so perhaps I've been out of the pricing loop too long and got sticker shocked.

Gorgeous truck.

If you keep the gas engine in the f350 and pretty equally option both trucks, they come out at about the same. At least its that way for a 4x4 crew cab long bed xlt with the chrome package and a few other equal options. Both come out to $47,000. Seems like there should be a bigger price gap there.

Prices listed on the website at this point aren't likely reflective of the reality most people will deal with.
Once they have a bunch of these sitting on dealer lots and they can finalize the incentives it will be very interesting to see what the out-the-door prices end up being.

As always, how fast they move the units will be a big factor. If people buy lots at full price, they may not feel the need to discount them much at all for several months.

The price tag stating out for XLT is around $30,000. King Ranch starts around $50,000. So basically your paying BMW and Audi prices for a work truck. Kinda crazy when you put things in perspective. Thinking these trucks are getting over priced.

Just a couple of immediate reactions:
1. You can't get the new 2.7L on the luxury (502) equipped Lariat? Bummer...big mistake;
2. You can't get 20" chrome rims on the 2.7L Lariat but you can on XLT with the2.7L...makes no sense
3. Pricing is VERY early...its going to be all good though - either the Fords sell like crazy and Ram and Chevy offer huge rebates to keep pace or the Fords don't sell and the rebates will be forthcoming very shortly either way the consumer wins - got to love the free market capitalism!!!

I did the build and price thingamajig trying to make the lowest price I could but still have limited slip, Supercrew, tow package, and brake controller. An XL came to over --- $37,000!!! Wha'? And, whew! Reckon I'll keep buying used.

I just priced a truck similar to mine, but checked off max payload in place of max tow, and it sticker priced a tad less than my truck now. I priced an XLT and loaded it with options to get it close to my Lariat I have now, and it's price was crazy high and didn't have what I have now. It seems that a 33 gallon fuel tank is an option listed as an extended range tank, but I have a standard 36 gallon tank now (which comes in very handy when towing long distances). I guess there are big changes going on.

The XLT with 5.0L and 4x4 is available with 3.31 gears with the e-locker. Nice! Taller gears and lighter weight - will be interesting to see what mpgs this combo provides...
