How many miles on your Ranger/B-Series?
Hey guys and gals,
I've seen threads like this on other sites, but didn't find one here. So, I thought I'd start one...
How many miles are on your Ranger or B-Series? List what year, trim, body & bed style, engine & tranny, and how many miles you have on yours. If you'd like, also list any major repairs you've had to do and/or major upgrades you've done. Feel free to drop a pic or two into your post as well!
I'll start...
I've got a '97 Ranger XLT regular cab, short bed. It has the 2.3L 4-cyl engine and 5-speed manual trans. My father-in-law bought it for my wife while she was in college as her first vehicle. He bought it used around 2004 I think. So, it's been in our family well over half of it's life. Total miles so far: just shy of 91,500!
It's not in mint condition, but it's been mostly reliable. Only major work I've done was on the tranny... about 2 years ago I did a new clutch, slave cylinder, master cylinder, etc. Other than that, it's been mostly routine stuff and small stuff. Got new wheels and tires on it back in January or February.
Only major changes to it from stock are the new wheels and the Leonard camper shell that was on it when my FIL bought it. Other than that, very original!
Here are a couple pics of it with my newly acquired '92 F150 Custom:
I look forward to seeing your rides and hearing how many miles you've gotten out of them! I'm sure many (maybe even most?) of you have far more miles on yours than I do!!

Well, I searched the site as well as did a site-specific Google search and came up empty handed. Clearly that thread is more established than the one I created, so moderators, feel free to delete this thread if you'd like. I didn't mean to start a duplicate thread.

I have a 92 Ranger XLT 3.0L 5 sp. I have some nice pics but not enuf posts yet. It has 101643 miles on it and it does need an oil change because it has been over a year but maybe only 1000 miles. Or less. If the best selling vehicle in all of South Africa is ever sold here I'd be at my Ford dealer right now instead of posting this . That ain't happening so it will be a 2016 Tacoma or an F150 because the Colorado seat kills my thighs.

I have a 1985 Ranger Base 2.3 Liter 5 speed long bed i think? Anyway it has 199xxx I think im less than 100 miles away from hitting 200k. I've nothing in the engine except plugs wires and oil. and it seems to be almost all original engine wise. The body on the other hand I've sunk in a grand....and it still needs some paint. She ain't pretty, but I getting her there.
I put primer over some spots that didn't have any paint.
Should be around 99,9xx

2000 super cab long bed 2wd, 3.0 auto with 257k miles. I've owned it since 244k and put a radiator, upper control arms and lower balljoints and fluid filter change.
The tranny just started making noise so I'm gonna swap it out and hopefully see 300k with her, the motor is still strong never leaks or burns any oil and I get 19mpg pretty consistent on the highway.

Sons 99 Ranger
99 Ranger supercab 4.0 ohv. auto 4wd flareside bed. My 24 year old son just purchased about a month ago. This is the only the 2nd ford in the family. Only 120,000 on her. In really good shape for the year. Here in Ohio's rust belt they usually look a lot worse at this age. He has always wanted a small truck. When his last two vehicles gave up the ghost we went looking for a truck. Happened to find this for him on craigslist. Ran to the car lot the next morning, fell in love and drove her home. Now I,m looking for another for myself. As my handle suggest my family has always owned some sort of Chrysler product. To bad they do make a truck worth a dam. I remember my 1984 full size dodge and what a piece of crap that it was. Since I do all the mechanic work for the family I didn't want my son going down that road. We all want something better for our children and at this point its a ford. Son previously owned a 1998 ford Taurus with well over 250,000 on the clock. I did a lot of work on it over the years and it was easy to work on. As far as I know if it didn't completely rust in half that Taurus is still on the road. Will keep you all posted as to when I find my own ford truck I can't live without. Wife for sale will trade for low millage f150 or older ranger. LOL

I have a 1995 Ford Ranger v6 4.0 Automatic and its a real cutie Although I had to do some repairs on her. Bought her a little over a year ago for a cheap price with 159,000 miles, and I have 161,000 on her right now. Ive changed the fuel pump, rear leaf shackles, brakes, alternator, starter, and sparkplugs. Shes a pretty clean truck now but I fear that the transmission or the timing belt might be going. The transmission was a rebuilt but it was a late 1995 rebult so... Ive been slipping into gears or I get a thud/kick back when I speed up really quickly then quickly take my foot off the gas.
I plan on keeping her till she dies, hopfully she serves me for the end of this year and hopfully next year. *fingers crossed*
