1985 f150 fuel pump relay missing!

Just bought a 1985 f150 5.0 FI
Previous owner cut and removed the fuel pump relay.
And installed a toggle switch under the dash
It works but I would like to reinstall a relay for the fuel pump
because it is hard to remember to shut the pump off.
And it cannot be good for the fuel system for the pump to continue to run and keep constant pressure.
Looking for a diagram of the fuel pump relay wires or someone who has installed one.
Thanks

fp bypass

Hey
in my old f150 i went from efi to carb.since the FI was gone i needed to bypass the relay.its on the fire wall between the pwr brakes and the fender.its a small square
box.i removed it and put jumper wires in temporary!
You will have power to the fuel pump as long as the key is in run.

I doubt the genius that did that got ride of the wires. Let's hope they're just tucked away near the location where they should be. As far as the schematic, I know the coil of the relay get's it's power from the EEC relay, and grounds through pin 22 of the ECU. The switch side of the relay gets power from a fusible link at the starter solenoid junction (where all those fusible links are piles on top of one another) and then the other side goes to the high pressure fuel pump on the frame, and the fuel tank switch on the dash. I'll attach a diagram originally posted by forum member 'subford'.

What type of relay and socket do you have? Something generic? Did you snip one out of a junkyard truck?

ok think i got the relay figured out and hooked up now i am having wire issues!
i still have a miss 7 and 8 seem to not be getting gas from the injectors so swapped them out
now still have 7 and 8 dead
strange thing is i unhook my alternator when running then truck runs much better hook it back to the battery and it starts running like crap
never had this issue normally if the alternator is bad i unhook the battery cable the alternator dies
i must have wire issues
im lost going back to checking every plug is plugged in i guess
i knowits something stupid but i cant pin it down

It's not a good idea to unhook the alternator (or battery) when the engine is running. it causes a huge electrical spike in the system and can damage components (especially computers).
When the alternator is hooked up it is charging the battery. It may be that your battery is really run down and the alternator is putting out a lot of power so when it's hooked up it is creating a "load" on the engine and that's why it runs rougher.

and the problems continue
now i have swapped injectors once again have new fuel tank new fuel pump filters wires plugs
still at idle #7 seems not to be getting gas from the injector
whats really weird is i start it it is only missing on #7 then put the truck in gear and i lose like 3 more cylinders. it shakes and barely runs while in gear
this thing is cursed or something
never had this happen before.
