Who all has been to BTS?

I am going down to get a BTS tranny next month and the wife is thinking about going with. Although she's not looking forward to sitting in the room all day with no vehicle while I'm down at the shop with the truck.

So I was wondering what there was to do around there during the day. I might even tow her car down so she can go somewhere.

I've been a few times, never with someone though...although my GF would love just looking at craftsmanship and trucks anyway. Tina and Patti would likely keep the significant other entertained, but it can be a long day.

In Lead Hill which maybe has a population of 1000, there's not much unless you enjoy fishing, then there is Bull Shoals lake just down the road.

Harrison, is about 10 miles away, and is still pretty slim as far as entertaining, of course that depends on what you are into...

Closest "attraction" to the are with whatever you may want to do is Branson, Mo. The "Vegas" of the Ozarks. Just guessing but probably close to an hour away from Lead Hill though.

If you are into the outdoors or even just scenic drives, this area of Arkansas and SW Missouri is surprising to many people who haven't been here, especially in the Spring and Fall if you time it right and can catch the color changes.

My wife and I stayed in Branson and I ran the truck down to BTS. It was about 40 miles to BTS but it takes about an hour to get there. My wife enjoyed herself and stayed busy sight seeing and shopping.

My wife and I was just at Brian's Friday getting the tranny rebuilt along with a few other mods done.
If your wife doesn't like sitting for 8 hrs then I suggest taking a car for her. There isnt a whole lot to do there except fish and enjoy talking to Brian and his crew about powerstroke diesels.

Roger that, i went back in June and that was my take on it. That area is beautiful if wanting to take a drive while the work was being done. Like others said, not much else around except for fishing on Bull Shoals, or driving about and hour+ towards Branson. I chose to sit around and watch, learn, and pick Brian's mind for everrything i could. They do have a real nice waiting area with several large sofas if the urge to relax strikes ya.

Thanks guys, I think we'll haul the car down and maybe do some fishing. I am planning in staying in the shop while they are doing my truck. Seems like a good opportunity to gain some knowledge about my truck.

I sat in the room with Brian while he rebuilt mine. He's a true guru.
I must have asked him 100 questions

Another option for some is to rent a car in Branson, if they don't want to haul a car.

It's been a month since I had them rebuild my tranny, reburn my TS6 chip, put a 1.0 housing on the exhaust side of the turbo and do away with the EBPV.
I still can't wipe the smile from my face every time I drive it. I'm like a lil kid at Christmas.
Great people with great customer service. Can't beat them.

P.S. Did you take the wife and make her hang out at the shop?
