Picking it up tomorrow. It's the closest thing to Orange I can find.

Ummmmm.....is this a test? It's yellow.

Just kidding. Your VIN tag will indicate which yellow it is.

No such thing as a "VIN tag" on trucks of this vintage.

COLOR code stamped on the Warranty Plate, located on the left door face below the latch.

If the code is G = Chrome Yellow.

VIN tag (only the VIN is stamped on it) located on the left corner of the dash, visible thru the windshield, was first installed on 1968 Passenger Cars, but no truck, Bronco or Econoline had it until the 1980's.

Thanks.
It looks just like School Bus Yellow or the yellow that city trucks used to use.
I looked at paint colors on the net and Chrome Yellow came closest but I still wasn't sure.
Once I get it home I'll look up the code.

I don't think it's chrome yellow which is "lemony".

If the warranty plate's color code is blank (unstamped), then it was a special order color likely by a govt agency or for a corporate fleet.

'Looks like Caterpillar Yellow to me.

After I give it a good once over these things come to mind.
Lose the rear knobbies
Find 2 more hubcaps
Maybe go to white wheels
Find a stock rear bumper and go with a receiver hitch.
Swap the 3 speed for a 4 speed if it gives me a higher final drive.
Maybe lose the cabin fuel tank since it already has another tank.
Putt around and have fun
Then my wife will get pissed that I'm having a good time and want me to sell it.
Rinse and repeat

No, I couldn't stand looking at the rust on the kick panels inside the cab.

I believe all the 4 speed transmissions that fit have a 1:1 final drive just like the 3 speeds.

It's a Tremec TKO-500 5-speed.

Indeed it can..... Talk to Bruce or Paul at Modern Driveline and they'll give you the skinny.
