2nd trip with new 14 DRW 6.7 F350
I just completed my 2nd trip with our new truck. We went from central FL to Orange TX for a job. Here are the figures, mpg still not impressive, but no worse than my 09 6.4 was. And the power and towing is no comparison!
Trip was 780 miles
Fuel used 77 gals
Avg MPG 10.12 (calculated)
Trucks lie o meter said 10.7 mpg
that was towing my 13500# Bristol Bay, average speed 60-65 mph.
I can't say enough about how much better this truck tows than my 09 did, I love it!
The only problem encountered on the trip was one my rear wheel center caps came loose while going through LA on I-10. I mounted "crossfire" tire pressure equalizers to the center cap, the weight of the crossfire combined with the "smooth" LA road conditions (NOT) caused the cap on the RHR to come loose, which I immediately felt, and pulled over. Fortunately it didn't cause any damage. I had to use some small dia para cord I had in my camper and a little ingenuity to make the rest of the trip with no problems. But I am going to have to come up with a better mounting solution for my crossfires. I may have to remove my center caps and mount the crossfires directly to the hub axle cap. Suggestions appreciated.

Greg- you ain't kidding, the roads around here are borderline dangerous. You must've taken the little I-12 shot from just east of New Orleans to pick up 10 again right there at the mississip'. You passed right by me

As did I go to Fairview-Riverside in Madisonville last week
I waved !!!
I -10 is glass compared to I-20 through Shreveport and Monroe !!!
We left the ground a couple of time and our sink covers ended up on the floor !
You'd think between Nagin and Landrieu they would have pocketed enough to fix them

I-10 and I-12 between Mobile and Houston sucks for pulling an RV. I go between Houston and SC or NC often and can't wait to pick up I-65 in Mobile when heading east. Every overpass is a ramp and the roads are in general disrepair. Once on I-65 I can relax. When on I-10 in Mississippi and Louisiana it's white knuckle time.
