Supercab vs. Crew Cab for towing?

I've seen quite a few threads about the space in an SC vs. CC, but I'm wondering if there is a difference in towing. We are about to replace our 2006 Nissan Titan CC with an F250 and I have to decide between a Supercab or a Crew Cab.

We pull a 25' toy hauler that weighs about 7000lbs loaded, so as far as specs, either truck will handle the trailer, but what will be the difference in handling, ride, etc. between the two?

thanks for any input!

As far as space, in the 6 years we've had the Titan CC we've only had people in the back seat once It is mostly used for storage.

A longer wheelbase leads to better stability and ride, but less maneuverability. The crew cab area is nice to have.

Supercab is generally lighter and can be had with a long bed. Crew-cab long bed is very long, if that option is even available. Other than that, they will be about the same. You're not towing much in the F250 scheme of things so pick one you like, basically. Supercabs are being discontinued soon, if not already, I believe due to crash testing of the double door not being so hot.

Yep... That's what I thought. Thanks for the confirmation.

One thing I didn't realize until I did a comparison of specs is that even the Supercab SB is 8" longer overall than my Titan and the wheelbase is 2" longer.

Good point. The 250 is a bit of overkill with our current trailer But, since I want to replace the Titan anyway I figured I'd go with a bigger truck in case we want to upgrade our trailer in the future.

There are plenty of 2015 Supercabs around here, so is this something that is planned for 2016 or later?

The best part of our CC is lifting up the seats and folding down the storage rack. Usually just the two of us in the cab when towing, but that extra space is really nice for all the stuff we ending up "needing."

I love taking up 4 spot with my 2015 F350 Ultra Lariat....

but, i am respectful and park out away from the store when I take up 4 spots.

I have been in very few circumstances where the length of a CCLB is a problem.

A Supercab is 158" long. The CrewCab is only 172.4" long. Mere 14.4" inches longer. Not enough to quibble over in my simple mind. Fuel tanks are same capacity.

For heavy towing stability and weight distribution over the axles, the longer wheel base is better.

For towing maneuverability when backing, the shorter wheel base is better.

Get one of each!

Now that sounds like a good solution

while u r at it,
get the 350 - basically the same, but higher ratings for that bigger rv you WILL get

and the fuel tanks on the long bed are 36 gal whereas the sb is 26 gal

you will find that u will be backing into most parking spots --- easier to pull out after and easier to manuver into with backup cameras and front wheel steering !

(actually a lot of fleet companies policy is to back into spots - proven safer !!!)
