Do you know what caused the damage in the first place?

If your going to scrap it you should do it soon the price is dropping on scrap metal. I just did some clean up around my place and took a few item to the scrap yard, they take anything metal. I didn't get payed for the stuff I took, small stuff but they took it. It would have cost me at the garbage transfer station.

Hope everyone has a good day!
Cheers!!

AFAIK its a minimum of 500 lbs to get paid for scrap metal or at least close to it.

Dunno how the damage got there. We got the engine free from a neighbor before he was "removed" from his house. It was in his yard on a stand, upside down for many years, the valve covers were rusting out from water. But the crank turned smooth and the cylinder walls were smooth. I don't remember seeing the hole before taking it there, but I wasn't looking for it. I didn't notice till I had it back on the stand in the garage at home.
