Since you want to preserve the paint, and its still in good condition, have you considered clear coat? Some color sanding to get rid of the oxidation and a few coats of clear would bring the paint back to like and protect it for the future. Clean looking truck by the way!

I've seen them go from 200-350 recently.

IMO, some chrome headlight doors would finish that front end off nicely.
I do have the chrome doors as well. I like the look of the black just as much. I'll be adding a black push bar soon so the black doors wont stand out as much. I think the black looks mean!

Looks like a awesome truck, pulling that chrome off just to buff it might be a bad idea, unless you are very very patient and you might have to get some new mount clips....
The chrome push bar look good on there. Better than I thought it would. I plan on replacing it with a black push bar. Swap them around when I get bored

I did find a short bed locally that the guy let me remove all of the race track trim for a good price. And yes it took me about two hours. I'll take my time if I end up pulling the trim from my truck and have some help.

Thanks for the compliment. Currently is at my office in the warehouse that has heat and a/c. Ill probably keep it in there. I really haven't decided how far I will go to preserve it.

Yes, I may have it color sanded and then cleared. I've never done it before but have had a lot of people recommend it. It has a few dent and dings from being 35 years old. Adds character I think.
