Sorry to hear that! I hope they get it fixed like new! The thing I did find out when I had to do some work on my wife's car after someone backed into her in the parking lot...is that they don't always use new parts. Most insurance companies use grade A replacement parts (used) and if they are not available then they will replace with a new part.
It sucks when your truck/car is new and they won't even replace things with new parts!

Prince what's worse than that is that some insurance companies will use aftermarket parts even on brand new vehicles. The way they it is, once you sign the dotted line and the vehicle is titled it's no longer new. Imagine you paid about 50K? For your truck and someone had hit you at an intersection on your way home from the purchase of that beautiful black plat. and the insurance company goes and outs aftermarket parts on you shiny new truck. Trust me I ran into it time and time again in my time as a collision tech. Yeah I tried to stand up for the customer, but it rarely helped. And what's worse is some appreciated my efforts, but most couldn't careless. I didn't care if the car in question was a new Aveo or a new Plat. Fseries. To me new in new. And that was a vehicle someone worked very hard to get. And it should be put back to new.

My biggest concern is that something weird and untraceable will manifest itself like a vibration....but hopefully not...I`m not a body guy by no means but it looks like everything could be repaired without actually replacing things.....and I guess I`m worried this lil accident will hurt the trucks value since I`m sure this will show up on a carfax or whatnot

Wow, sorry to hear about the wreck. Can you post some pics of the damage?
From some of the things I've seen and heard about aftermarket parts, I'd almost prefer a used OEM component to an aftermarket one.
Different insurance companies have different rules regarding aftermarket vs. OEM parts. I remember hearing from someone that the insurance company that fixed their car would only put OEM parts on a current model year truck. But others are different, so you'll have to see what happens when they appraise the damage.
Yes it will reduce the value of the truck, and that's unfortunate. Pursue the idea of a diminished value claim with the adjuster to compensate you for this. My good friend at work had to borrow a car from me for a month while his was in the shop. After all was said and done the insurance company mailed him a check for nearly $2,000 for diminished value. Had I not advised him to pursue this with them they never would have paid it. I'm still waiting for my cut.

As far as carfax and the other vin check sites are concerned. I don't put much faith in them being correct. I've seen to many used cars and trucks that have blatant signs of collision repairs and many of those showed very significant signs of major collision repairs and the carfax said the vehicle was never wrecked. Hell I even saw a few that I know personally that were flood repair vehicles and showed a clean carfax. It's all what the individual shops and insurance companies report to those companies. So you might get lucky and not have it show up there.
P.S. show some pics when you can. I hope you're not too sore.

actually don't look as bad the more I stare at it.....having to put that ugly ole spare on probably makes it look worse ......thanks for the diminished value tip Tom I`ll definitely pursue that......also on a side note I figured out how to post pics using my phone incredibly, stupidly easy... feel like an idiot for not figuring it out sooner

The cab damage is the worst, I was t-boned almost the same in my Expedition a few years ago, they ended up replacing the door and entire QT panel costing up-words of $7200..but no worse for the wear.
really sorry to hear this! I hope the insurance treats you right, i still think they are all blood sucking thieves and nothing more then a legalized mafia but its whatever.
