1989 150 4wd tire size and suggestions
I have a new to me f150 1989. Stock 15" rims. Currently runs 31x10.5x15 with no rubbing.
I would like a good quality tire for this truck to use as a hay hauler, farm truck, hunting, and camping truck. No serious off road use, but the pens and pasture do get sloppy. Also, lots of rocks and large gravel where I use it. It also pulls moderately heavy trailers on highway and rough roads.
Ideally I would like an e load range, but I have not found any in 15 inch.
I would also like to put 33x10.5 under it if it would not rub, but I can't tell for sure if it would or not. No lift on the truck that I can tell.
So, suggestions? If I have to, I can go for a 16 or 17 inch rim, but I would rather not. If that is the suggestion, what rims are inexpensive? Just some steel black rims, but the backspacing and width are where I need help.
Thanks

I think a 33" will rub in the front. But there is a size in between that that is a little more rare a 32x11.50x15. They are still a 6 ply load range C but I think they have a few hundred pounds more load capacity because it's a different size.
For example the BFG All Terrain in a 31x10.50.15 is rated for 2250 pounds but the 32x11.50x15 is rated for 2530 pounds.
Discount tire shows 6 available in that size but there are more out there if you check ebay or google that size.
